Dans les Record Collector, on avait eu aussi cette magnifique couv spéciale Pepper.



Ce mois-ci, c'est le Please Please Me en pressage UK qui est à l'honneur.
Oui, label Gold on Black, tout ça.

Et dans la série "lequel est le plus rare..."




There's an interesting article in the new copy of Record Collector this month - apparently a precursor of a definitive Beatles section in the forthcoming 2014 Rare Record Price Guide - the many & various vinyl/label/sleeve (but not inner sleeves !) variations of the mono Please Please Me LP are described and listed.

Nothing particularly ground breaking for us on here, perhaps, but a significant new set of readily-available information for the less Beatle-savvy collectors/sellers out there.

One interesting piece of information is the estimated numbers of units pressed within each variation - compiled by the author based on an assumption of the number of presses per stamper and a painstaking cataloguing of 10 years-worth of auction sales.

As we might have guessed, the rarest versions are the one EMI boxes, followed by the '69 Yellow & Blacks, with the first "33 1/3" Yellow & Blacks coming in third.
